And here you have it folks. I'm back from the 'peg.
All in all it was a splendid endeavour. Lots of late nights (LATE/early), lots to drink, lots to learn, and tons of people to meet.
So we'll have a 2 part weekend/week in review… as there are almost two weeks to cover.
I will note that I went to see Sex and the City 2 on Thursday night with my lovely friend Elizabeth and her equally lovely sister Emma. So fun. (and I loved it!)
Friday: got a quick haircut at parlour (uhhh… amazing. go there), and then I went to Synthetica, which was my friend Missy's dance show with Typecast Dance company in the East End. Wonderfully choreographed. I couldn't have enjoyed it more.
Then, grabbed a sandwich with fries at sandwich'ed. So good. I then headed home to the parent's place, as I had to be up early Sat. morning. Saturday: woke up in time to drive my car to be serviced while in burlington, and then headed to st. catherines for the heel and wheel - the walk for crohns and colitis. It was awesome to get to spend time with my second family (I have been friends with this girl since we were 7… almost 20 years!), and support something that quite evidently doesn't get a whole lot of it.
We finished, and I was able to get some shopping done, after dropping over $200 on my car (ugh.). Then met up with my friend stacie, who is mother to three of the most amazing children in the world… my little 'fake' neices and nephew: olivia, micah and addison. I got to spend the day with them… and they are the BEST. Crazy wonderful little things, who are smarter than they need to be. I can't wait to watch them get older… headed home later than anticipated (how do you say bye to three angels?!?!?) and got back to toronto late. And thennn packed. Yes. For my plane the next day.
Sunday: flew out early for Winnipeg.
I will summarize the week I had in winnipeg in the following ways:- no slurpees (I don't want to talk about it)
- great speakers
- lots to drink… lots.
- won amazing race, and got a GPS!
All in all, it was an awesome trip. I really enjoyed spending the time away from the office, but it was horrendous coming back… and now, back to reality.
