Some of you know, some of you don't know, that I'm moving in about two months. I've been going through some major life changes (or possibly anticipated life changes), and it's causing my whole life to stir up. I'm potentially moving in with my parents, potentially looking at a 1.5 hour commute to work by train, potentially looking to sell my car, etc. lots of things to prepare for what's next. It's amazing how life throws these things at you, and you can choose to embrace them, and use them to carry you through the rapids, or you can hold onto the one reed that has buried it's roots in the sand, and hope to the lord above that the roots can hold. I'm choosing to let the current take me - while putting on a life jacket, and packing my belongings in a waterproof backpack.
In some ways I think it's good - throw myself out of my comfort zone to see what I'm really like in the face of the unknown. See what's important and not important, when you become a transient (a lifestyle which I appear to be approaching).
I'm also hoping to save some money… I have a shopping problem - evident by the amounts of clothing/other items in my life that I have been able to purge, without noticing a deficiet in my closet - which means that not taking TTC home, and getting off by shops will certainly save me money. That and, if I move in with my parents, I'll have cable again!! So exciting!
On a similar note, I'm selling some goodies, to make space in my proverbial backpack (george clooney in 'up in the air' would be so so proud of me). I have recently ridded myself of:
- two large overflowing laundry baskets of clothing/accessories
- 7 jackets
- 4 purses
- 8 books (and counting)
I have not yet gone through art or furniture, and I'm hoping to be ruthless, and go through my clothes again… so fingers crossed my entire life will fit into the cab of a F150 truck - because that's all I'm able to move with.
