i have a friend emma. this is emma.
we lived together in university. we talked long talks. we laughed lots of laughs. we drank lots of... well. everything. we fought. we cried. we shared secrets. sometimes - most of the time - i am afraid of how much she and my other roomate (alicia) know about me... because it's definitely more than i know about myself.
emma knows this much. love scares me to death. the formality and finality of it. and emma works at a movie company. not to mention she's always way ahead of everyone in terms of pop culture. so when i saw her one night to go out, and she pulled me into her room for a movie she knew i'd love... i knew i'd love it! i watched the preview, and knowing the tag line was enough to help me fall in love. 500 days of summer. other selling points? joseph gordon levitt, cartoon blue birds, the kid who ate all the shrooms at the beginning of super troopers, sweater vests, arm sketches, zooey deschanel. and the tagline:

i almost forgot about it, until kate posted about it yesterday. renewed. i have faith in the fact that i'm not the only woman on the planet who thinks everlasting love is like the easter bunny who leaves chocolate - cute, and a nice idea, but impractical when left on the heater at the cottage. great cast. incredible soundtrack (reminiscent of garden state and others). not corny story. good ole fashion rub your face in the dirt heartache.
