Today I was inspired.
I haven't been inspired by much lately. I'm feeling a little bummed about some happenings at work, and feeling as though I'm a little left in a ditch.
However - today reading the newspaper (instead of my work reading that I have been prompted to read on my own time), and I found an article about networking… while I hate the idea of using friendships as points of contact for what I can get out of them, it really reminded me of how much I have let some of my most amazing friendships slide while working in toronto. I use the excuse of being unbelievably busy all too often, and it's not fair.
One quote in the article stated: "don't feel bad for not contacting them all this time - they haven't contacted you either!" true - however, that's not the way to manage a friendship!!
So I have been making a list. A list of people who I have all too often said "let's get together!" and then class, writing, work, other work, etc. got in the way. This time - I'm making it happen.
Maybe we can all use the advantage we have of instant correspondance a little more regularily. And when your friends don't - don't hate them. They still love you :)
