my weekend in summary

sooo... now we're onto current. again, a crazy weekend of lots of time with friends.
Thursday: I went to the one of a kind show with my friend Helen, where we scoured for ideas for our monthly craft meeting. Found some amazing art by some incredible artists. I purchased a pair of earrings, some magnets/greeting card, and some hot sauce meets salsa combo. I will also draw everyone’s attention to this artist – lauren blakey. Beautiful. We then went to pho phoung by my house for dinner – I had never been, worrying that there would not be a lot I could eat there… but lo and behold, I’ve found my new place. The food was AMAZING, inexpensive, quick. Then Helen dropped me off, and had a good sleep
earrings; magnets... i'm a nerd; food stands with dogs - what a wild friday night.
Friday: I didn’t have plans, but through some quick facebook communication, my friend drew invited me over for dinner, and with the intent on heading to the jays home opener to get scalper tickets. When I arrived, drew’s brother and fiancé were there, so drew’s fiancé samira, kyle, kyle’s fiancé sandy, and drew and I ate dinner, watched the game on tv, laughed a ton, and were entertained by kyle and sandy’s (fairly new) puppy. It was a great night to catch up with drew and kyle (whom I’ve known since elementary school), and their respective partners. Headed home pretty late, and had a GREAT sleep after a full night.
sports night with art; jays game - happy bday matty!; love this, it means spring is coming
Saturday: woke up, and in an attempt to get sneaky d’s brunch (which I was craving) text messaged almost everyone in knew who I thought might be available in the city. To no avail. I ended up meeting up with Erika and her bf Matt downtown, for some sushi lunch. It was so nice to catch up with Erika, and find out about her new job, etc. they also helped me pick out new sunglasses – always a good thing! I then met up with art for some food, drinks, and lots of sports – 2 bball games, and 2 hockey games. Our mutual friend tom stopped by briefly on his way downtown as well, so we got a quick hello with him in. I love hanging out with any of the guys from laurier because I never ever have to worry about being on an accidental date. We were at the bar late, and I’m sure the waitress wanted us to go. But we had a blast. Art walked me back to my car, and got home again, too late.
Sunday: woke up in time to get dressed, and head downtown. The plan was to meet up with a group of people for another high school friend Matt’s bday, watch a jays game, and arrive early enough to get a jose bautista bobblehead. Apparently 20,000 other people had the same idea – they were gone hours before the game. The 15 of us sat up in the 500’s, chatting, watching the game, talking sports, and (most of them) drinking beer. I then messaged Kelly (a friend from work) to meet us at bier markt for some food and drinks. More great conversation, good food. We left after some goodbyes, and I headed home to quickly change for cole’s place – where he was having a degrassi showing of his 2 new episodes. A bunch of us sat, ate junk food that he always spoils us with, and had good chats over some great episodes. Headed home around midnight, and slept like a baby.
Again…. I’m lucky to have great friends. It was a mostly high school friend weekend – and that’s a great thing!
ps. this is old news, but i'm still proud. cole, and his writing partner matt, made the list of top ten to watch. check it out. i'm friends with him! i am lucky! ah!

my (delayed) weekend in summary

again... my apologies for the delayed weekend summary.... i have been back to work every day this week for the first time since my original injury. between that and trying to get everything i need to get done for... well, life... i'm struggling.
Thursday: I met up with my friend’s gf (who also happens to be a friend), for dinner at café 668 for vegetarian chinese food. It is consistently good there – even though I had only soup and spring rolls. We then headed up to revival for my friend’s (her bf’s) show with his band unbuttoned played with some other acts. Great night of hip hop, soul music. They were amazing! Really enjoyed it. Headed home fairly early, as I had been needing the sleep for my part time transition back to work.

unbuttoned at revival; my bf coach brad stevens of the butler bulldogs... winning!; verbal disagreement gets hilariously physical - when denver attemps to bodysurf through it
butler game - and that's a win!; orangutan at the toronto zoo - my friend sent a picture, i said 'pick on up for me, will ya?', and she comes home with a stuff orangutan for me :)

Friday: after working from 10-2 (part time hours, transitioning back into work), I went for a massage to loosen things up from the stress of the week. It almost sounds silly, saying that I was stressed from 3 days of 4 hours a day of work… but there’s something to be said for respecting your body – and its broken bones/torn muscles. I then spent the night hanging out with my friend, watching sports, playing video games, and watching ‘I know what you did last summer,’ and, ‘I still know what you did last summer’. Amazing.
Saturday: had made plans a little while ago to do my traditional earth hour with my old roomies, but when that fell through, I ended up plan less. So I headed to denver and daniel’s place (my former-nearly-roommates), for a good time with cane dancing, some drinks, and REALLY good conversation. Never ever fails when I am with these guys. Never. Went home again fairly late, but worth it.
Sunday: got up, and did some cleaning and tidying while waiting for my friend Kelly from work to get back from the zoo. We had plans to have dinner and make ATCs, but once I arrived, we ate dinner, and crafted while watching documentaries – the history of the f bomb, and dear Zachary (heartwrenching, btw). Good way to spend a Sunday. Went home, and went to bed to rest up for my first week 5 days of work.
I’m lucky to be surrounded by so many people who I love to spend time with… and I don’t even live close to some of my favourites!!
