they're BACK. thank goodness.
the civil wars are en route to deliver their sophomore album, after much speculation in regards to the band's future. the album comes on august 6th - for those of us who have been sitting on our hands, hoping, waiting. after a fairly ambiguous announcement on the band's facebook page in regards to their cancelling the remainder of their tour dates due to 'due to internal discord and irreconcilable differences of ambition', the album has been put together, amongst remaining rumours about the future of the civils wars, and what comes now.
press releases on the album reviews, also share that "the album was recorded amidst a grueling touring schedule, exhausting workload and a growing disconnect from their families."doesn't leave a great outlook for more music to come following this bunch of releases...
nevertheless, we're left with a beautiful - and appropriately haunting - single, to excite us for the album release. and... to keep our finger's crossed for more civil wars music. but for now, we have a new album coming, a soundtrack from 'a place at the table', some articles, and a VH1 unplugged feature to keep us engaged.
plus... this video is dynamite. i'm enthralled.
