this weekend was rush rush rush, and then no plans from saturday onward. and it was marvelous. honestly.

Saturday: woke up LATE – I’m talking, 2pm kind of late. Had some
breakfast, and then got dressed, and headed out to Domestique-Café Cyclo
Sportif, where we had coffee and lattes and read magazines, and
just sat while it was rainy and drizzly outside. We made a quick stop at the
grocery store on the way home, and then settled down for some jewelry making
(me) tv watching (both of us), and making a humongous dinner of tacos for 2. More
tv watching, and it was VERY early to bed.
i'll leave you with this - because it's stuck in my head forever now. you're welcome.
beading creations with lady friends; toe twins (and ample amounts of wine to show why this was so incredible at the time); club 54 in burlington - this is what my life has come to; jewels and a boy's cardigan; saturday rainy day coffee date; taco night supreme; beading frenzy that is my life; cheetah on wool on cheetah.
Thursday, a few lady friends and I got together, and shared
in sweet wonderful canned goods, and tasty treats from Erica, and I taught them
the basics on beading – more on that later…. But all I should say is, it was
awesome and fun and wonderful, and I have great lady friends.
Friday: I was in work early for a meeting, and after an excruciatingly
long and painful back day, my manager recommended I work the remainder of the
day from home – which worked out perfectly for me. I then headed to ancaster, got
dressed, and then headed out to Burlington for jeff’s work party – at the holiday inn (you have no clue how many times I sang
this in my head). I stressed for about 4 hours prior to the party about what to
wear, as I’d never met his colleagues before, and since they’re all irrigation
guys, dress-up isn’t their favourite thing to do. All was calmed when I met
everyone, and I was on par (these are honestly the things that stress me out –
don’t want to be OVERdressed, nor under). We did the cocktail/appetizer circuit,
and then had dinner, drinks, and dancing. Then, a group of us headed out to the
bar. Attempted to get into one, but if you think bouncers in Toronto have
attitude and cockiness in their corner, you’ve never met Burlington bouncers (IVY
– which is a joke, and no one should ever visit. You’re a bar in Burlington –
get over yourself). So we all happily mosied over to club 54, where the cover
was cheap (cover? At a Burlington bar? Don’t ask how I feel about this), where
we danced amongst ridiculous people (the type of people who go to club 54) with
hooded sweatshirts, too short skirts, and hilarious dance moves. A much better
decision, in my opinion. We all piled into the van to get home, only stopping
briefly for a roadstop (still don’t know why) in which the road was closed for
about 25 minutes – cops, fire trucks, and undercover vehicles galore.

Sunday: woke up late again, and after breakfast, some organizing, and some web work, we headed out for Toronto – with a stop at taco bell on the way (my fave – gross, I know). I dropped off some beading I had been working on for a friend who runs citrus silver (amazing hand stamped pendants – check her out!) and then home to get warm, watch some tv, and just relax while it was rainy/snowy and yucky outside.
