on following a great person

ahhhhh!
i've followed andrew williamson on twitter for quite some time now... and yet, have never had the opportunity to fully enjoy his art. and for that....
i'm. a big. fat. dummy.
if i may quote the great philosopher, gwen stefani, 'this shit is bananas. b-a-n-a-n-a-s.' i'm 99% sure she was talking about andrew's work.
his commercial work is stunning - portraits of people, as well as seemingly simple (though wonderfully complete) shots of landscapes and buildings. his documentary style photography is simply great - exactly what documentary style shots should be. unobtrusive, and yet cohesive.
and, his fine art. incredible. he steers towards photographic representation of history and documentation... and his pieces from 'stripped from the archive' looks to digitized archiving and the manipulation of information in a digital world (library nerds - start paying attention).
cities in mind - article in the standard here
check his stuff out. it's awesome. and he's local - toronto! can't wait to meet him in person.
