today is a day. and it happens every year.
things i'm doing today: packing stockings for my mom/dad/gma, and watching them open them and laugh like small children; watching my sisters open their gifts that were hand made with love (photos of gifts to come following my Christmas gift giving... i was on a handmade prowess this year!); eating our typical eggs benedict breakfast, gorging ourselves on hollandaise sauce and poached eggs. and vegan bacon (contradictory, yes? i don't care); watching a movie, and prepping for dinner; eating dinner with one large family of 30+ people (gma, parents, aunts, uncles, cousins, step cousins, 2nd step cousins, cousins significant others and so on); laughing – a LOT of laughing; going with the cousins to a movie Christmas night (our annual tradition); trying to get some writing in, for some upcoming articles I am writing for a website; sleeping very very well.

i hope everyone, at the very least – whether celebrating Christmas or not – spends the day with whomever they choose. a movie character, a friend, family, strangers, or yourself. i hope everyone takes this weekend (as we should all year) to reach out to strangers who need someone – or a friend or family member who needs someone. i hope everyone buys/makes a toy for a child who may not have one under the tree. I hope everyone bought some extra hats and mittens for those who need them too.
but most of all, i hope everyone feels love, laughter, and warmth today.
