my (crafty) weekend in summary

This weekend was supposed to be about relaxation and catching up on sleep – instead, I had a lot of fun. That’s ok.

some sort of rapping version of sing star or rock band - whatever it is, i got to rap ludacris in front of a whole party, and got huge props when i knew all the words without looking at the screen. so. good.; charm blowing out her candle (?)' the incredible cake, from friend; the lovely birthday girl and her possibly more lovely significant other, jon (best. male. style. ever.); saturday is craft day with landlord/friend erin... sewing and dying supplies; the fabric massacre.
Friday: my intent was to meet up with my friend charm for her bday (which seems to be an annual event) and go to her place, and leave when they headed to the bar. Instead, I was convinced to go to the bar with them. So I drove, and parked at work, again, with the intent of staying until maybe 1, and then cabbing home. again, this plan was ineffective – I was out until 5:30 at an afterhours bar with friends. Exhausting. Had a blast dancing, and enjoying the company of charm and her lovely friends. So nice. (happy birthday charm!! To another year of friendship)
Saturday: woke up uber late (after my late night/early morning) and then made a quick trip to the organic store for supplies (this to me, means coconut water, vegan jerky, and rice chips with salsa – this is my ‘day after the bar/late night’ food). Then, erin (my landlord) and I spent the rest of the day dying fabric, creating designs for knock off longchamp bags, and scarves galore… my most favourite was the circle scarf design with the light weight canvas material (going to be SO nice once the dye has been washed out – I’m so excited). We talked (a lot), and drank wine, and ate food, and talked more. It was awesome. We will continue this tradition 100%. Man I love making.
Sunday: woke up late, again, and spent the day doing things with friends – a walk through high park in the awesome weather, and a great dinner of jerk tofu, with red beans and rice – which, by the way, everyone should make, and eat. It was, in all, a great day. Got to bed too late again, but worth it.
Hope everyone enjoyed the amazing weekend – and for all those not in Toronto or southern Ontario, hope you’re getting unseasonably warm weather like us
