ok. i'll admit it. i'm a party pooper. i constantly forget halloween, and then, when it approaches, i don't have ample time to construct a costume. so i usually end up with some haphazard collection of tights, and superhero costumes, or dressed as a person who forgot halloween. really - nothing will compare to my university days, so why bother?
nevertheless, i managed to have a bit of fun. (though, remind me never to go downtown on halloween ever again - i'm not sure why i do it, as cabs are few and far between, and TTC is worse).
also. no photos - my phone has been a disaster lately, and before i got my new BB, i was lost with a 90's style bb. very great for the image.
Friday: after work, a few friends from work headed over to (my friend and colleague) Kelly's place for some snacks and wine. it was meant (i'm sure) to be a casual get together, for a few hours, but we ended up staying late into the night, chatting about everything and anything. it's so great to work with people who you can socialize with on a life level, as well as a work level. Kelly's boyfriend Tyler showed up about halfway through, when i believe the conversation was centred around IUDs, birth control, and cheating in relationship - he quickly grabbed alcohol, snacks, and barely said goodbye. apparently he wanted nothing to do with the conversation. it was a great night, filled with great food, and lots and lots of wine. kelly walked me to the streetcar, and i wandered home, and got to read some of my book en route! (though, i'm sure i'll have to reread most of it).
Saturday: i woke up around noon (i needed a sleep in, badly), and nearly immediately headed to a coffee shop to get some work done. spent hours there, and had a friend come sit with me for about an hour and a half in between. then, with the intent of heading to a new place when my favourite Lit closed for the day, i ended up contacting my friend from work for a night out. apparently this is turning into a tradition, as i spent halloween with her last year as well... the only one's not dressed up at the bar. we went to joey's at the eaton's centre, and then to jack astor's at yonge and dundas, where we somehow managed to convince our server to le us take the remainder of our bottle of wine home (we're good). cabbed home, and was out like a light quickly.
Sunday: woke up late (again - amazing), and was productive all morning. laundry, cleaning, etc. then packed up, and went across town to meet my friend janice for lunch. on our walk back to her place, we stopped into a jewelry store, as Janice wants to have a piece made. In the exchange, I was offered a job in their store... who knows, good starting point maybe? i drove back to my side of the city, and then worked at starbucks for the rest of the night. went home, watched shaun of the dead, and knotted repair work for the rest of the night (money!).
hope everyone had a great weekend - and has a great evening tonight!
