I’m back!
I was part of a wonderful celebration this weekend of 2 of my favourite people in the world – and had a blast. Between a formal dinner, and a night out with the bridal party Friday night, rehearsal, then brunch, then a boat cruise, then a night out to the bar then club on Saturday, and then all day at the salon, and the ceremony, reception, and then a last hang out with all the people we’d been able to spend so much time with over the weekend.
It was fantastic – I had to battle a lot of back pain, limp down the aisle sans cane, give a toast (which apparently – according to guests – went very well), stayed up wayyyyy too late, made some fantastic new friends from LA (and subsequently have LOTS of places to stay there – and all over the world – now), and had a lot of withdrawal (in a few ways) when Monday came. I’m going to miss all of their friends, Mary and Reuben themselves, but now I get to spend time with Mary while she’s here waiting for the rest of her immigration info to be processed, without having to talk about wedding stuff! (blog post on Mary and Reuben coming soon).

Just to share the few photos I have from the weekend… (mostly from other people)
earrings; stack of necklaces for the bridesmaids; 1st night formal dinner - my close eyed smile (being like a 5 yr old); myself and Nicole from work; the beautiful mary arriving; mary’s sister; mary and patricia (from work); some guests enjoying the night; the bridesmaids (minus 1); 2nd night – boat cruise, and the boys doing some shots; Mary and I; Mary, Sarah and Reuben; Joe (best man) and the father of the bride; 3rd day – Mary at the salon; one of the bridemaids, Paige, having her hair done; our ride; the couple, finally married; my seat mate Jeff, and the flower girl; the head head table; cutting the cake; the first dance; the seat mate Jeff (of Jeff Johnson fame) rapping to the couple (Reuben represents Jeff); the work ladies, minus me; the couple in the royles Royce, on their way out; a fallen soldier at about 4am on wedding night; the day after the wedding – some of the boys at yonge dundas square for drinks; mary and I – absolutely exhausted (as you can tell from our eyes)
