a friend peeking out, on my walk around my neighbourhood; reading in the sun; my city - i get to live here; wine by candlelight; the stage at the MMVA; a picnic in the sun.
Friday: I went home, and through muddled plans, ended up staying at home, watching sex and the city, eating Vietnamese food, and beading. Great night. I was in bed fairly early, and stayed outside as much as possible.
Saturday: I ended up waking up much earlier than normal, and so before noon, I had accomplished all the ‘chores’ that I wanted to complete before the weekend was over. Cleaned my kitchen (on hands and knees washing the floor), cleaned my bathroom, did my laundry (including my bedding). I then made lunch, and sat outside in the sun, reading, and eating. The weather was perfect. I then headed downtown to meet my friend for ‘operation patio’. We had planned to sit on a patio across from much music for the sole purpose of seeing lady gaga’s sound check for the MMVA’s. we arrived, and literally a minute later, lady gaga’s dancers walk on stage, and they run through 3 times. Perfect timing. We spent the remainder of the day in the sun, talking, and enjoying various kinds of food and beverages. We moved around a bit, chasing the sun. we talked about babies, and how with babies we would NOT be able to live the lives we want (i.e. sit in the sun all day on a Saturday). I then headed over to another friends, where we sat on the patio, with candles and wine, and watched the moon rise. We had a few drinks, and headed out to a bar where she knew another friend of hers would be. We stayed for a bit, and then went our respective ways. I ended up meeting a lovely irish man on my way home, who bought me falafal, and ensured that I got home ok.
Sunday: woke up and hung out in bed reading for awhile. I got up, and did all the things I needed to do, and planned to meet my friend for a picnic. We met, and went to trinity bellwoods, where we chatted, read, ate food, and people watched. We then wandered to pizza libretto, and had amazing pizza (as usual), and made a friend in the waiter. We then walked down queen street, until I arrived at work, to pick up my car. A quick stop at home to change, and then I was off in the opposite direction to meet my parents and sister for father’s day. We had a good 4 hours dinner (and I’m sure the staff at the restaurant hated us), and then I headed home to bed.
Great weekend – hope everyone enjoyed the sun!
