i recently went to see 'the king's speech' with my mom (yes. i know). this movie... oh this movie. i was inspired by the story, the acting, the costume design and cinemetography. the privacy of this family, and the way that the story is told... is stunning. the use of language and it's power over people's confidence. incredible. the way that a family prepares one of them for a life - in either a positive manner, or a negative - was so wonderfully presented with the actors giving such respect to their chracters... i can't say enough about this movie.
i will also say - from a personal perspective - the way that colin firth portrayed frustration, anger at oneself outwardly expressed at those around him, compassion, and fear.... as someone who can't communicate the way that they are expected to... really meant something to me. it was the frustration i feel on a daily basis. and to let people in on that... was amazing.
please - go see this movie.
