i missed last week's weekend in summary, as i had a friend visiting from Vancouver, who i had to keep occupied. that being said, my days have been filled with drs appointments, sitting around, watching movies, and therefore i'm not sure i have much to include in a weekend in summary posting.
alas....
friday: i was at home on friday (at my parent's) as i had a drs appointment thursday morning, so i spent friday at home. watching movies. very exciting. i did have some appts, and my sister and i went for a manicure and pedicure somewhere in there, but i was in a lot of pain that day, so i tried to stay home as much as possible. did some laundry - very productive.
saturday: woke up late - i haven't been sleeping well lately - and spent the day looking for something to do. watched sports, ventured out to try to get some storage stuff for my apt (which is currently being ripped apart due to a repair in my plumbing), and came home to watch hockey and a huge finish to the colts/jets game.
sunday: my sister D woke me up before she left for the airport to go back to school, and then i went back to sleep for a bit. woke up, and literally plopped my pain ridden self on the couch to watch football, and cut out of fashion magazines. i am a living contradiction. coordinated plans with a friend, and then had dinner at a friend's house. spent the night watching more football.
this week will be a GREAT one, because - SURPRISE - I somehow got a CT scan appt on Tuesday. this CT scan should determine the extent of the fracture in my L1 vertebrae, as well as the damage in the discs, and the amount of torn muscle... and therefore will determine my fate in terms of surgery. this is what i have been waiting for, as until this time, i have had no idea about recovery time, etc. it's getting to the point of borderline depression, without knowing how long i will continue to wake up in pain, live in pain, and go to 'sleep' in pain, as well as going nights on end without sleep due to pain. needless to say, i'm ready to hear how long my recovery will take - realistically.
see 2011 - i TOLD you that i was going to take control of you this year!
