This weekend was supposed to be something of a relaxing weekend. No plans other than to meet up for dinner and drinks with a friend of mine from home.
Needless to say, that turned into more of a weekend than expected.
Friday: since it was the start of my team fitness challenge at work, we weighed in, and then right after work, we headed out to a bar for our last bits of freedom (read: beer and greasy food) before we buckled down for 6 weeks. About 7 or 8 of us had a few drinks, and chatted about our fitness goals - aka. Drop the weight that we had packed on to account for the 30% of our team score that is weight loss (for those of you who have never seen me, I don't have much weight to lose - and the rest of the people on my team are about par. I gained 8 lbs for this challenge!). I ended up walking home with a friend… a friend who broke my heart. Needless to say, I took the long way to my friend erika's place for her halloween party. I had shoved a superhero costume into my bag before I left at 7 that morning. Had the chance to meet Erika's boyfriend (finally!), and catch up with some friends from high school who I hadn't seen in a long time. I left just before they headed out to the bar - and got home 'early', compared to the nights I've been having. My body needed a MAJOR rest.

only street clothes at the bar (yes!); mom's homemade skeleton cupcakes; my poppie wound - this is the thanks i get?? |
Saturday: I woke up later in the day - clearly I needed a long sleep, as I have really only slept between 3 and 4 hours a night for the past 4 months. I went out to get some errands done, and was fairly successful. I needed some new shoes, and needed to try on some new suits. I didn't end up getting any suits, but definitely prepped myself mentally for the amount I'm going to need to drop on them. I did manage to get some shoes though. I then headed to meet my friends, and we ended up out at tattoo - again. I think I'm getting a reputation there. We were quite possibly the only people not dressed in halloween outfits. After some gooooood dancing, we realized that trying to find our ways home would be challenging. We split ways, and on my own way home, I bumped into Daniel, my former-almost-roomate. We hopped on a bus, and talked the way home. I then walked about 30 minutes - in my devestatingly painful heels - home to bed.
Sunday: woke up around 10:30 to a text from my dad saying - brunch at 11, ok? Yea, right dad. I ended up getting to my parents around 2pm, and we decided on vietnamese (in my opinion, they make a mean brunch, but apparently it was lunch to my mom and dad). We spent the rest of the day watching football, carving pumpkins, and handing out candy. I got home (with mom's homemade cupcakes to bring to work) in time to miss the 2nd last world series game - and get to bed relatively early.
Hope everyone had a safe halloween!
