my weekend in summary

i'm home. And I lived to talk about it. This weekend was hectic. Involving alcohol, lots of work friends, weddings, beaches, fish dinners, oh my!
Thursday: After a client meeting, I went home to get changed, and make some earrings for my cousin's wedding party. I then headed to my cousin's who is also moving (moved) to Perth, to help pack the truck, say goodbye (so sad). Packed the truck, ate some vegan cupcakes, and met the puppy walter… and unfortunately then said a (jamie version of tearful) goodbye. Then headed to emma's place for some of the jersey shore. I wish I could say that they managed to convince me to go out that night for some laurier reunion fun, but unfortunately I had to work. Blah.
Friday: worked all day (though it was quiet), and had a friend fly in from Vancouver, and met a few of us at work. Pulled a fantastic prank on a coworker from winnipeg - involving hiding a framed picture, and placing a printed picture of two friends from the office in its place - which is still ongoing.
Went out to crocodile rock for some drinks, and ended up staying most of the night - and by most of the night, I mean I was home by 11pm. 3 buckets of beer later, an early night was the best idea possible when we had to be on the road by 11am the next morning for the wedding. Came home, made some vegan chicken fingers and hasbrowns (BEST. THING. EVER.)
drinks after work; photo. for prank.
buckets of beer; blackmail
Saturday: woke up around 10:00 to pack, and then take off for the wedding in chatham. We had a few errands to run - wedding card, shoe shine for bryan's shoes, etc - and were on the road by 12:00 ish. Long drive, but time flies when the company is good! We arrived in time to meet a few people, get ready for the wedding, and show up. Please note that I always default to black for weddings, and since bryan was wearing blue for the wedding, I had to wear something other than black. Alicia made me buy a dress for the wedding - bright. blue. Colour is not my thing, so I'm glad she was there. I never would have tried it on, and felt uncomfortable the whole time… but it had to be done.
(wow this girl looks WAY better in this dress than me!)
The wedding was a blast - the people were fantastic, the food was good, the drinks were flowing, and we danced all night. Got back to bryan's friend's parent's place where we were staying, and some people went swimming, and had some late night fun.
Sunday: since one of my favourite people in the world is in port dover currently, I figured a quick jaunt down there on my way home from chatham would be appropriate.
After a sleep in, and some breakfast, I hopped in the car, and headed to port dover to see jake. I arrived nearby, and met up with Jake, Rob and Phil (two of jake's friends). Played some on beach horseshoe-like games, and then walked up the beach for some ice cream. While eating, we were privied to some great music, on a patio - what a life. Drive back into port dover, to jake's place to make dinner - fresh fish… yummm - and then the three of us showered (as Phil headed back to toronto before dinner), to play some scrabble and head out for the night. There was a bit of coordinating, but we managed to get there with a bike, and two runners. Wandered around a bit to find a bar that was open, but once we did, we knew it was right. Kereoke with locals. It was fantastic. Also managed to fit some shuffle board in, which I've never played before. Once the bar was closing, we walked home, and went to bed.
Monday: woke up after a rousing night out with Jake and Rob - at 2pm. Jake had breakfast made - because he's amazing - and we went downtown to go on a river boat cruise that he loves. Bought tickets, but since we had to wait a bit, we walked around, got some cool drinks, went into some stores that he likes, and picked up some fries for the ride. After the ride, we picked up some fish for me to take home, and I got on the road to head back. Stopped at my parents place for dinner, and some ikea shopping with the sisters, and then arrived safely in toronto at about 10:30. long. Weekend.
Hope everyone's weekend was as 'relaxing' as mine!
