Friday: late at work. Again. I left work to pick up some stuff from my friends, and headed back to waterdown - to prep for my garage sale and moving. Made some signs, etc. bed. Late.
Saturday: woke up at 7am - with the birds - to hang posters for the garage sale, and pick up coffee, ice, etc. spent the day in the sun selling peameal bacon on a bun, other people's crap, and bottled water… all in an effort to raise money for my 65 km walk in September*. We made $400 - plus an addition $150 from a woman I used to babysit for! She lost her mother and sister to breast cancer, so was happy to help.
My mom and dad and I didn't really finish up until about 5…. They took the remaining goods either to value village (if they were junky) or to the shelter that we bring things to in Hamilton. Another batch of clothing is going to Touchstone Youth Centre in Toronto.
*In September - for the second year - I'm walking a 2 day, 65km walk to raise money in the fight against women's cancers. This involves a $2,000 fundraising minimum, which is a STRUGGLE. See my fundraising page!

After all was said and done, my sister and I picked up slushees, and just hung out for a bit before she went out for the night. I spent the remainder fo the night, packing, studying for my CEBS exam, watching 'we are marshall' and formatting my new external hard drive…. And FINALLY uploading pictures from my trip to panama. Cried to myself, over the movie. Sports. What can I say. They get me every time.
walking on the beach in panama... oh how life changes in minutes
Sunday: woke up at about 10:30, ready for the next big day. Headed to the new zellers in waterdown, which is known for it's commitment to being a 'green' store. It's pretty awesome. Picked up a few things I needed for my move - INCLUDING an ottoman. I'm a grown up now - I own an ottoman.
Packed up my car, and my dads truck, and took off to my new home in toronto. Unpacked - lots of stuff - and got rid of the bloody armoire that has been following me around for the past 3 moves. Had dinner with a friend and his daad, as a thank you. Tried to get everything moved, settled in, but knowing that I had an exam to study for, didn't commit too much time.
Went to bed. Late. Again.
Busy weekend - but glad it's done. Since I have this exam on Wednesday that I haven't spent much time studying for because of everything else that's been going on, I have to put my nose to the grindstone. Therefore I might be missing a bit this week… but once Wed. has passed, I plan on enjoying the HELL out of toronto, free weekends (since the bead store is no longer…). Anyone have some tips?*In September - for the second year - I'm walking a 2 day, 65km walk to raise money in the fight against women's cancers.
