one of my favourites... UnBrelievable... wrote a blog entry about the power that music has over us… and specifically that songs bring us to a place where we have been, where we want to be, or where we have no interest in being again.
those songs:
not a day goes by that these songs won't remind me of a time, a place, a feeling, and a regret.
i don't feel regret - i don't believe it's productive. so i store it in songs.
because music has played such a huge part of my life, i sit in solitude with music much more than i would like to admit. and so then... when i sit and listen to reprasentative music, it brings me back.
and as bre says...
"… I would have a song that always reminds me of you. On lonely nights when I miss you, you will receive a message with a few words. The words will be parts of that song. Years later when you hear that song, you will think of me, and I, of you."
those songs:
1. ben harper - just another lonely day
2. elliott smith - between the bars
3. jack johnson - rodeo clowns
4. david grey - say hello wave goodbye.
not a day goes by that these songs won't remind me of a time, a place, a feeling, and a regret.
i don't feel regret - i don't believe it's productive. so i store it in songs.
