branches out the window

things have been a bit wild the past few days...
i was fortunate enough to spend a couple of days in waterloo with former students, in order to celebrate the life of a friend who we lost about a year and a half ago. in short, it was wonderful, amazing, inspiring, and much appreciated (i think), and her family was moved. i'm so glad we could be a part of something so wonderful.
today i was a part of a wonderful brunch in which a multitude of amazing and influential women were able to gather at la perlerie and hang out. we had some WONDERFUL food from liten up, some mamosas, ceasers, breakfast sandwiches, fruit skewers, and talked business. i was particularily enthralled with rea macnamara - a writer for Eye Weekly, we chatted about the 'craft movement', and her recent piece on Jen Anise's part in the craft economy of toronto. I particularily enjoy an educational conversation with someone who i respect, and can tell is in the right place. plus her glasses were to die for.
so into her. check out her online project curating the fashion history of Toronto.
all in all - enjoyable. i think everyone enjoyed, and left a little bit richer. socially, emotionally, and for those who got goodies... jewellry wise!
and on another note....

i walked into zellers yesterday to get some easter goodies for greig (i hope he doesn't read this!), and walked past the women's clothing section. normally, i barely hesitate, because their women's clothes leave a ton to be desired. but i did a double take. is that a large button cropped jacket i see? a pencil skirts in black and white? pleated a line skirts? tie neck sleeveless tops?
yup. leave it to me to not realize that alfred sung has a line in zellers. luckily, i was quick to discover that Pure just hit stores on April 2nd.
reminscent of Joe, and George (my favourite man, and his less than comparable counterpart), Pure is a great, affordable, and VERY blendable line exclusively at Zellers.
i was highly impressed. a price point higher than i would be able to hit as much as joe, they've managed to pull together a great line. i tried on about 25 items. and i hate trying things on! if my sizes had been available, and i was willing to spend a bit more on quality basics, this would be it. i only ended up with a black pencil skirt (which may i say does wonders for my behind), but would have liked three pairs of pants, two skirts, two jackets, and four blouses.
that good.
check it.
