waiting for an exception.

as of late... this is one of the songs i love hearing... and i can't wait until i find that person who becomes my exception. because right now? it seems like it will never come again.
The Only Exception lyrics (by Paramore)
When I was younger, I saw my daddy cry | And curse at the wind | He broke his own heart and I watched | As he tried to reassemble it | And my momma swore that | She would never let herself forget | And that was the day that I promised | I'd never sing of love if it does not exist
But darling, you are the only exception | You are the only exception | You are the only exception | You are the only exception | Maybe I know, somewhere deep in my soul | That love never lasts | And we've got to find other ways to make it alone | Or keep a straight face | And I've always lived like this | Keeping a comfortable distance | And up until now I had sworn to myself that I'm content with loneliness | Because none of it was ever worth the risk | But darling, you are the only exception | You are the only exception | You are the only exception | You are the only exception | I've got a tight grip on reality | But I can't let go of what's in front of me here | I know you're leaving in the morning when you wake up | Leave me with some kind of proof, it's not a dream, oh | you are the only exception | You are the only exception | You are the only exception | You are the only exception | you are the only exception | You are the only exception | You are the only exception | You are the only exception | And I'm on my way to believing | Oh, and I'm on my way to believing

(week and) weekend in summary

i had my friend tyler here from vancouver this past week, so it's been busy, filled with fun ontario things.
we made lots of good vegan food - as i somehow convinced tyler to participate in veguary with me (although every month is veguary for me!) - sporting events (shocking, i know), shopping for comfy clothes and tyler allowing me to be his personal stylist! we ate dinner at zen gardens in missisauga, fresh (which seems to be standard when he visits), queen sushi, OMG bakery, chipotle, sneaky dee's. we went to see the company men (incredible), and black swan (my second time - go. see. this. movie. now.). i got some lulu gear, and blundstones. we saw the toronto rock play, as well as the mississauga st mike's majors.
homemade lasagna for ty - his fav!; st mike's game; toronto rock game
then this weekend...
friday: after ty went home in the morning, i cleaned a bit, and then made a huge purchase - a new cane!. i then met my mom, dad and little sister for a birthday dinner (my mom, and sort of my sisters, as they both have february bdays). i then went back to my parent's place, as they were heading to florida, and thought i would stay at their place (with cable!) for a bit.
saturday: i didn't do much. took my obligatory daily trip out of the house, for some groceries. my friend considered coming over, but by the end of the night we were both just exhausted. this back takes a lot out of me!
sunday: i woke up, and headed to my friend's place (who just had my little munchkin, the gabster). I hung out with them for the day - watching sports, and chatting. and soothing little gabs, who had a bit of a grumpy day. drove home in the flash snow storm that we got.
my little sister's "first" hickey; the beautiful weather in toronto; me and my little gabster watching the all star game; some joe fresh goodies from the new spring line.
monday: holiday! i woke up to see that my lovely next door neighbours shovelled my parent's driveway... lovely lovely. my friend came over for a bit to watch tv, and hang out. then i had my MRI that night. came home, and just lounged.
to another (short) week of friendship. i'm trying to stay positive, and spending lots of times with friends, and family. fingers crossed for some more beautiful weather!

happy 'valentime's' day

happy valentine's day everyone! spend the day with the people who are important to you... friends, family... and i GUESS a loved one if that's your thing.
wish i was bringing flowers to my roommates, and spending the day with my lovely laurier boys.
