my weekend in summary
this weekend was surprisingly full.
friday: went for lunch with some friends from work - worked through the pain, in realizing that it's worth it for the mental clarity i'm getting from these sorts of things. then, on my way home, i stopped at bookhou for the first time - AMAZING store.... unfortunately for me, i will most likely be visiting there a lot more. went home, did some cleaning, and waited for alex and thomas to pick me up on their way down from kincardine, to go to our friend's dance show. it was amazing... as usual. then the group of us - most of the ladies from the bead store i worked at (Susan, Mai-Liis, Alex, Missy and I - missing Erin!) went out to grab some drinks. Then, Alex and Thomas came back to my place for a bit, where we were up late talking and catching up.
saturday: woke up late, and did more cleaning and organizing around the house. ventured to OMG for some cupcakes, as I was asked to babysit for my friend's sons (7 and 3) while she went out for the evening... I stopped off at a friend's place first, because Greig is in toronto visiting between cruises (he's been working on cruise ships, and is off on another contract in March - so excited for him!). brought home a cupcake, and planned our hangout for Monday - and was serenaded by a rousing set with Nick on piano, and greig on broken accordian.. Then, headed to Susan's place, where I was served wonderful vegan chili, and got to spend the night with 2 cute little men. i am in love. for real this time. watched the HORRIBLE football games, and updates of all the other teams i like who lost (bah!), and knitted, waiting for susan to get home. When she did, we sat up talking for a bit, and had some wine. then off to bed late.
sunday: woke up early at my friend's place, and had some good breakfast. then, went home, changed, unpacked from susan's, and headed over to my friend's place to watch the big football games. spent the afternoon hanging out, watching football, and lounging. after the two devastating losses (again!), came home, and lounged watching seinfeld, and eating tempeh and rice for dinner. went to bed. late. again.
hope everyone else's weekend was great!

| greig and his accordian (and matching hat); my saturday night; new clock from ikea; out for the night... in yet another blue striped shirt. |
hope everyone else's weekend was great!
'the pieces don't fit here anymore'
james morrison just has a stunning voice, and sings amazing songs. i don't think that this song needs any further introduction...
I've been twisting and turning in a space that's too small | I've been drawing the line and watching it fall | You've been closing me in, closing the space in my heart | Watching us fading and watching it all fall apart | Well I can't explain why it's not enough | Cause I gave it all to you | And if you leave me now | Oh just leave me now | It's the better thing to do | It's time to surrender | It's been too long pretending | There's no use in trying | When the pieces don't fit anymore | The pieces don't fit here anymore | You pulled me under so I had to give in | Such a beautiful mess that's breaking my skin | Well I'll hide all the bruises; I'll hide all the damage that's done | But I show how I'm feeling until all the feeling has gone | Why I can't explain why it's not enough | Cause I gave it all to you | And if you leave me now | Oh just leave me now | It's the better thing to do | It's time to surrender | It's been too long pretending | There's no use in trying | When the pieces don't fit anymore | The pieces don't fit anymore | You pulled me under so I had to give in | Such a beautiful mess that's breaking my skin | Well I'll hide all the bruises; I'll hide all the damage that's done | But I show how I'm feeling until all the feeling has gone | I don't know why | Well I can't explain why it's not enough | Cause I gave it all to you | And if you leave me now | Oh just leave me now | It's the better thing to do | It's time to surrender | It's been too long pretending | There's no use in trying | When the pieces don't fit anymore | The pieces don't fit anymore | The pieces don't fit anymore | Oh, don't misunderstand how I feel | Cause I've tried, yes I've tried | Still I don't know why | No I don't know why
